Thank you for coming to this part of our website. We warmly invite you to learn more about the good work that is going on at St. Andrew’s Church. We hope that as an ordained priest you are looking at our parish to discover if it could be the place where you will continue your ministry. We encourage that interest and invite you to investigate the possibility of joining us in ministry by contacting the Reverend Canon Michael Ambler, Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of Maine. Information about how to apply and what an application contains is at the Diocese of Maine’s website, on their transition page which can be found here.
We promise that we will review your application prayerfully and carefully, responding promptly and maintaining the strictest confidentiality throughout the process. As is evident in our profile and on this website, we are energetically engaged in discipleship here at St. Andrew’s and in the wider community. We look forward to discerning along with you whether you are the person God has in mind to help us, as together we do His work.
Marilyn Cheney, Jane Langdon-Gray, Sally Johns, Alex Pugh, Jim Van Dyke, Bob Vaughan, John Ward.
The Discernment Committee composed the following prayer to aid them and the congregation on their journey. You may recognize some elements from familiar hymns.
O God, you know us better than we know ourselves. Guide us, we pray, as we discern your path for us.
Empower all of us to use our unique gifts. May we share our thoughts openly and honestly, respect the opinions of others, and encourage humility, patience, and joy.
Instill in us a vision for your church, allowing us a clear understanding of the needs of St. Andrew’s.
Guide us by your Holy Spirit, that we may be united in love and joyfully accomplish this mission.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, serving you whom we adore.
In the name of Christ.
